In nature, the reality seems simple and immediate. It consists of the different shapes, colors, movements, sounds and smells we perceive physically through our senses. The reality of the urban world in which evolves today the majority of the world's population is much more complex and multiple. There is the individual reality, which is our personal and everyday life. There is also the reality of the others; the various communities that we see but we rarely mingle with. Finally, there is the Reality of stories conveyed by mass media through newspapers, TV, radio or internet.
It is the latter that makes the basis of my work. All my work is based on the analysis of information conveyed by mass media and their impact on my perception of things. The different images or stories that are of interest to me are collected and kept in my notebooks. Out of this collection of data, I develop my projects around subjects that I am interested in: Man and his behavior in our society, war and the different forms of combat, mass media, advertising and their influence on society. I appropriate those stories and by decontextualizing them, transforming and reinterpreting them, I convey my perception of these realities. This work in progress essentially takes the form of drawings, paintings and installations.
