DESCRIPTION

The gallery will host a book signing and reception with Lois Rudnick, art historian and editor of Cady Wells and Southwestern Modernism on January 15th from 3 to 5 pm. Refreshments will be served.

This major monograph, edited by Rudnick with a forward by Luanne McKinnon, director of the University of New Mexico Art Museum, and including insightful essays by Robin Farwell Gavin, Sharyn R. Udall, and Lois P. Rudnick is now available.

Cady Wells and Southwestern Modernism is published in conjunction with three related exhibitions highlighting Wells' work, life and influence on the arts and culture of New Mexico:

  • Our current exhibition of twenty-five artworks by Cady Wells continues through February 26th.
  • The Spanish Colonial Museum of Art, Santa Fe will host an exhibition of Wells' important collection of Spanish Colonial art (January 21 - April 21, 2011).
  • The University of New Mexico Art Museum, Albuquerque will exhibit major watercolors and mixed media works on paper (January 28 - May 22, 2011). This exhibition will also travel to the Harwood Museum of Art, Taos in the Summer of 2011.
