Service Industries is a series of galleries inside bars, restaurants, hotels, and other public venues that displays art by artists with jobs in the service industry. It is an open platform, a free idea, and a prompt for anyone to create their own exhibition space within any space that provides a service to the public. All Service Industries galleries will remain autonomous. If you are interested in starting a gallery, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Little Shamrock
The Little Shamrock at 807 Lincoln Way near Ninth Avenue is the Sunset District's oldest business, serving drinks in the same location since the 1890s. The story goes that Antone Herzo and his wife opened their pub on October 28, 1893, to serve the thirsty workmen who were creating the Midwinter Fair in Golden Gate Park. The bar recognized this date in a centennial celebration in 1993.
