Highlight Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in San Francisco which was founded in 2011. It represents both emerging and mid-career artists locally, nationally and internationally. The gallery was founded by Amir Mortazavi in the summer of 2011.
Highlight Gallery has a rigorous program that includes solo shows, project spaces and guest curated shows by international curators. The gallery promotes our artists through art fairs as well as publishing two to three books per year to coincide with exhibitions.
Highlight Gallery's latest exhibitions include "Silk" with Etel Adnan, Hayv Kahraman, Hesam Rahmanian, Timo Nasseri and Ramin Haerizadeh (Curated by Jane Neal) (May/July 2013), "Water & Polaroid", Matthew Brandt (April/May 2013), "(dis)location", Filip Dujardin (February/March 2013), "Disrupt", Marine Hugonnier and Taha Belal (Curated by Kelly Huang) (December/February 2013), "New Paintings and not so new", Rene Ricard (November/December 2012), "Eidolons", Chris Fraser (September/October 2012).
In addition to its gallery space on Kearny Street, Highlight launched its first project space in 2012. Held at 3020 Laguna Street, this project included ephemeral, site-specific architectural interventions by nine San Francisco Bay Area artists in a soon-to-be demolished home.
