Southern Exposure presents Passive/Aggressive, SoEx’s 2009 Juried Film/Video Screening featuring works selected by this year’s juror Andrea Grover by Northern California’s up and coming media makers. This year’s selected artists are Brian Andrews, Marlene Angeja, Miguel Arzabe, Clark Buckner, Reece Camp Carter, Krista Dragomer and Rashin Fahandej, Jamil Hellu and Darrin Martin, Dana Hemenway, Liz Miller, Doug Williams, Gordon Winiemko and Gaby Wolodarski.
Each year, Southern Exposure invites artists to submit work in response to a theme that encourages as broad a range of artistic interpretation as possible. This year’s theme, Passive/Aggressive, was chosen in response to our current cultural, economic and political climate and reflects on how decisions are made when faced with extreme challenges. We invited artists to submit work that responds to this idea in some way, shape or form.
More information about the selected films can be found at http://soex.org/event/216.html.
SoEx’s Passive/Aggressive 2009 Juried Film/Video Screening is presented in conjunction with the 2009 Juried Public Art/Urban Intervention Day presented on Saturday, December 5 from 11 am to 5 pm.
