DESCRIPTION

June is the month of Pride, and in celebration, City Art again devotes its back room to a "Queer" show. Member artists have been invited to interpret the theme as broadly as possible. In addition to work by queer-identified artists, we will showcase  work that touches on the meanings of "queer" as anything odd, out of the norm, nonconformist, weird, bent, unusual, or alternative.

Special performance: "Commie Homo-Loving Perverts: A Night of Queer Performances" at City Art Cooperative Gallery takes place June 19  from 7 - 10 PM. This evening queer erotic art, spoken word, burlesque, and performance includes performances by Jim e Sparkle Pants, Marlo Gayle, Jasmine Schlafke, Terry Kelly, Jennifer Mork, Amelia Paradise of the Diamond Daggers, Steven Schwartz, San Francisco's "It Girl " Jukie Sunshine, Angela  Mae Thompson, Katrina James and Dorian Katz
