DESCRIPTION

Opening Reception Sunday, January 24, 3-5 pm Artist Talks 2:30 pm

Awards of Merit and Best of Show will be announced at the Opening

Salon: Sunday, February 24, 4-5 pm

Artists were invited to interpret Aqua in any way that resonated with them. California is in a severe drought and water is on the minds of many these days in many ways. Aqua is a lovely color as well and many chose an abstract approach to the concept.

Gallery Route One is pleased to have Susan Snyder, of the Caldwell Snyder Gallery in San Francisco as our Juror this year.

Juror Susan Snyder is an active member of the San Francisco Art Dealers Association. The Caldwell Snyder Gallery represents emerging and mid career artists and has locations in San Francisco and Saint Helena in the Napa Valley, exhibiting 12 shows a year as well as participating in numerous international art fairs.

ABOUT GALLERY ROUTE ONE

The artists at GRO believe that art can be a powerful force for change, and that artists have much to contribute to the dialogue about critical problems we face as a society. Our Mission: To originate and present contemporary art exhibitions, educational programs and community outreach in order to inspire people to experience the world in new ways.

GRO was founded by 25 artists in 1983, and currently maintains a membership of 20-25 artists.

GRO presents art in all media, including installation, but does not regularly show crafts. Other GRO events include panel discussions, slide shows, and talks. Community outreach programs include: Artists In the Schools, the Latino Photography Project, and Gallery Route One’s Young Artists Fellowship.

Gallery Route One (GRO) is open 11 am to 5 pm, Closed Tuesdays
