Artist Statement

Merely because I perceive that which others miss does not make me an artist, but that perception induces questions, prompting exploration in directions I can proudly say no one has ever seen. So, does that make creative output the summoning of etheric matter into existence or is it created from nothing? I believe there is a place of substance just out of our sight, a pool of energy that sits idle until tapped. And into my particular tub of force I have injected a straw, through which I inserted a microscope, and there, just before I withdrew my inspection device I saw for a few brief moments what creativity truly is. Now, I cannot say in English what creativity actually is, just as a two dimensional creature cannot describe something of the third, but my straw sure can siphon out those luscious colors in all their beauteous, intricate, fractal form. Thus I have called it Fractalage.

And in creating these works of repeating, self-similar patterns and shapes I have noticed their producing a resonating effect with my psyche thereby inducing more peeks into that nether land. So, like a drug, I am addicted to looking, and to look I must paint. Fractalage has now changed my wiring to the point where I am seeing creative fractals everywhere. Being alive, for me is truly a high vibratory event, where now the multiple straws are littering the world behind me. Please, I beg your forgiveness of my trash, and I must warn you that the substance from there is sticky, so be careful when looking at those colors, you might actually taste that world, which might not be a good thing.
