DESCRIPTION

Chandler Fine Art is pleased to present Alexandra Frank's second solo show in the gallery. In her previous exhibition, the artist researched for many months Coleridge's poem "Kubla Khan" and then spent more than a year creating paintings and drawings depicting each line of the poem.

In her second series, she aimed even higher with Homer's "The Odyssey". Spending three years on research including trips to Greece to visit the places referenced in the poem. She then began a series of preliminary drawings that ultimately evolved into a series of forty paintings, drawings and collages representing lines from this epic poem.

The complete series of images can be found at www.alexandrafrank.com

She received first prize in the book category from the American Society of Illustrators in 2008.

Alexandra Frank lives in Los Altos, Calif with her husband and son.
