San Francisco –
The Coalition on Homelessness will be holding a SLAMMIN! Dinner, Dance and Art Auction, featuring entertainment  by Nora Roma, Perranosperous, Siobhan Aluvalot,
Molotov Mouths, and Pale Hoarse, and artwork by over a hundred local artists. It takes place this September 11 at Somarts Gallery in San Francisco’s SoMa District.

The Coalition on Homelessness was formed in 1987 to create permanent solutions to homelessness while protecting the civil and human rights of those forced to remain on the streets. While  local government has attempted to spend millions of dollars giving people tickets for sleeping outside, jailing panhandlers, cuttting essential services and squeezing poor people out of affordable housing, the Coalition on Homelessness has served as an independent  advocate dedicated to pushing back hard and creating solid change for its clients; COH has struggled hard to create standards in shelters, increase the rights of poor people, and expand housing and treatment programs.

ArtAuction08 attendees will be able to eat great food, dance, and support COH’s ongoing work. Past auctions have been very popular, and this year’s edition of the only-in-San-Francisco event is not to be missed. There will be numerous surprise live performances. The generous artists and donors include, but are not limited to:
