DESCRIPTION

Modern Eden Gallery is pleased to announce “Nevermore” a group show inspired by Poe’s “The Raven”.  "The Raven" is often noted for its dark and supernatural atmosphere and has been inspiring artists since it’s first publication in 1845. It tells the tale of a talking raven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, documenting the man's slow fall into madness. The lover, is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. Sitting on a bust of Pallas, the raven seems to perpetuate his distress with its constant repetition of the word "Nevermore".

For Nevermore, our artists are taking their own inspirations from the classic work and dissecting elements and themes from the work. From portraits of the mysterious Lenore, to the stone cold bust of Pallas, alongside portraits of the loquacious raven and even Edgar Allen Poe himself, the gallery walls will house works inspired by one of the most famous poems ever written.

Featuring works by Lara Dann, Jaclyn Alderete, Lacey Bryant, Layil Umbralux, Ashley Bell, Melissa Morgan, Kassie McMahon, Shawn Kawa, Aniela Sobieski, Lucy Hillenbrand, Cayetano G. Valenzuela, Michael Foley, Jeffrey Felker, Ransom & Mitchell, Sheri Jurnecka, Cory Benhatzel, Sherry DeLorme, Jessica Ward, Akira Beard, Derek Harrison, Timo Hanley, Patrushka, Joseph Kohls, Adam Rozan, Corey Urlacher, Brianna Angelakis, Craig LaRotonda, Leon Loucheur, Mary Syring, Edward Cao, Catherine Moore, Shannon Amidon, Daisy Church, James Marc, Alice Savage, Derrick Scocchera, Debra J.
