DESCRIPTION

Please join us at Eleanor Harwood Gallery for Gregory Ito's upcoming solo exhibition, Moonstruck -

Gregory Ito lives and works in San Francisco, CA and is the co-owner of the Ever Gold Gallery, co-founder/editor of the San Francisco Arts Quarterly (SFAQ), and recent honorary member of the Society for the Encouragement of Contemporary Art (SECA). Ito received his BFA at the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) for painting and currently works in multiple mediums including painting, photography, sculpture, performance, and video with a heavy emphasis on mixed media installation. Ito’s work is driven by human euphoria for natural manifestations such as the moment of twilight and ideas rooted in the idea of perceived values in today’s current cultural climate. Celestial imagery is commonly seen in Ito’s work, recalling the humanly spiritual connection to time and concepts of the eternal. Images and objects from Eastern cultures are also common in Ito's work, tracing back to his Japanese heritage while contrasting his Western upbringing in Southern California.  Ito continues to show his work internationally, and currently shows with Eleanor Harwood Gallery in San Francisco.
