Sonja Navin: Vestige and Vision

ArtZone 461 Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of paintings by Sonja Navin, one of the winners of ArtZone’s first juried competition seeking California realists, in the Side Gallery.

Sonja Navin portrays figures and landscapes, often bathed in a captured, crisp lighting that is one of Navin’s unique approaches to paint handling. Various passages on her life-route inspire her to capture scenes that produce works combining figuration and abstraction. Her recent series explores finding beauty in forgotten, often neglected parts of the city.

Sonja Navin attended the University of Michigan where she received degrees in Architecture and began painting.

Reception for the Artist Saturday July 14, 5:00 – 8:00 pm

Gallery Hours: 12-6 pm Wednesday-Sunday, occasional evenings, anytime by appointment.
