Café Royale is excited to present the work of Marshall Marice.
Marice's large-scale photograph's explore and challenges our relationship to the documentary nature of photographs and asks the viewer to engage with perceptions of impossibility.
In these images, Marice's free floating figure moves, falls and levitates through space in otherwise commonplace settings. The body in these pieces functions to remind us of the physicality of flesh while the preformed gesture operates as 'a machine of the now', recalling our mortality.
The show will run from March 30th through April 26th and should not be missed.
Please join us for the opening reception Thursday April 3rd from 8pm to midnight. Please post this event in your calendar.
