DESCRIPTION

As a prelude to the Spring launch of the book California Light: A Century of Landscapes/Paintings of the California Art Club, the San Francisco Chapter of the 100-year-old fine arts organization that is chronicled in the upcoming 264-page deluxe book from Rizzoli International will present the exhibition Northern California Light.

This display spotlights nearly 30 works created by many of the state’s premier contemporary-traditional artists who make the Bay Area their home.  The works capture fleeting moments of natural lighting across scenic vistas throughout the region – featuring an Impressionistic style of painting that the Club’s early founders influenced as they set out to capture the beauty of the Golden State on canvas.
