I spend much of my time observing nature and studying found objects. Patterns and forms can be found everywhere: in water ripples, plant leaves, even in a human thumbprint. In this set of prints I am using two matrices (copper plates) to create each print. On one plate I etch fine lines into the plate, creating a repeated pattern. On the other plate I etch a an bold shape into the plate using aquatint, creating a solid form. Then I print both images onto the same paper, revealing how a cohesive whole of both pattern and form can be greater than the existence of one without the other.
