Description

This work is part of the series, I Was Going to Make a Model of the Earth but it Won't Stop Moving. Each work imagines a fragment of what could be a typical midwestern landscape atop a drifting iceberg. Whether civilization has sprung to life in an unlikely place, or the world as we know it is gradually disintegrating under our feet, is up to interpretation.

In (Overpass), support beams for a highway overpass are either sprouting from the forest, or all that remains of a long lost structure.

This project was included in the influential exhibition, New Image Sculpture, at the McNay Museum of Art in San Antonio, also featuring:

Conrad Bakker, Libby Black, Tom Burckhardt, Margarita Cabrera, Chris Hanson and Hendrika Sonnenberg, Dennis Harper, Kiel Johnson, Kevin Landers, Jean Lower, Okay Mountain, Kaz Oshiro, and Jade Townsend.
