Description

This image is a design for a yet-to-be-painted mural publicizing the case, the plight and the legacy of African American journalist and political prisoner, Mumia Abu Jamal. Unjustly imprisoned for a murder he did not commit, Mumia is one of our time's most eloquent voices for social justice. Prison Radio project commissioned this design in 2006, and is looking for an appropriate wall and funding for me to execute the design. I originally interviewed Mumia Abu Jamal regarding his vision for the mural, and the recorded interview can be heard at http://www.prisonradio.org/JuanaAliciaMumiaAbu-Jamal.htm
