A recent photograph of a home on the Island of Tortola has been integrated with a 1930's portrait of a group of young men relaxing between work duties.
I produce montages using old photographs that I have bought or borrowed. Blending early Twentieth Century portraits with contemporary images suggests intimate moments in time and place that may have occurred. While a picture of an individual may tell one story, I invent another context for each scenario, revealing possible histories influencing the present. Viewers are invited to blend their own remembrances with the illusions I have presented.
