The Museum of Modern Art is widely recognized as the premiere institution in the United States for Contemporary and Modern art. The Museum is committed to the belief that modern and contemporary art transcend national boundaries and involve all forms of visual expression. It is dedicated to presenting an extensive program of exhibitions, film screenings and public events. The permanent collection includes over 150,000 paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, architectural models and drawings, and design objects as well as some 22,000 films, videos, and media works, film stills, scripts, posters and historical documents. The museum is also affiliated with P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center in Long Island City.
