The National Academy Museum & School is an institution built by America’s greatest artists and architects. Founded in 1825, the Academy is dedicated to promoting the fine arts in America through instruction and exhibition – a clear-eyed vision that still guides the Academy nearly two centuries later. New York’s oldest museum, we showcase the latest in art and architecture in the heart of Museum Mile.
The National Academy School galleries also exhibit works of the young artists enrolled there; past students have included Winslow Homer, George Inness and Willem de Kooning.
