Launch F18 was founded in 2010 by artists and curators Tim Donovan and Sam Trioli. Initially entitled Launch Art, the two formed a partnership organizing a number of exhibitions in semi-permanent locations along the east coast. As interest and opportunities grew, Launch Art required a more permanent location, finding its new home at 373 Broadway in Tribeca and the name Launch F18 was conceived. Since 2010, over 40 exhibitions have been presented in this project space, showing the work of established and emerging artists, including thoughtful exhibitions by gallery artists: Nathan Dilworth, Andrej Dubravsky, Tyler Lafreniere, Erika Mahr, Frankie Rice and Bradford Willingham.
In 2015, Launch F18 moved to 94 Allen Street, in Manhattan’s Lower East Side and welcomed David Deutsch to the gallery as Partner/Co-owner. In addition, photographer, Matt Ducklo, and installation artist, Nathaniel Robinson joined the gallery’s roster of artists. 94 Allen Street features a ground floor, storefront gallery and a lower level secondary exhibition space. The new space allows Launch F18 to present large-scale exhibitions on designated floors. The new location also has a small project space viewable at 95 Orchard Street.
