Czech Center New York

The Czech Center New York (CCNY) is a meeting place for Czech and local culture, a place where artists and professionals, Czech and non-Czech alike, can get to know each other and talk about their work, and produce work together, when the chance presents itself. Though of course our focus is on contemporary Czech artists, we are open to any idea that addresses current cultural or social themes, and are committed to the support of new international projects.

The Czech Center works closely with prominent individuals and institutions, Czech and American alike, to aid us in our mission of promoting the Czech Republic in the United States.

The CCNY was established in 1995. Since 2008, our offices have been located in the newly reconstructed Bohemian National Hall (BNH), which we share with the Czech Consulate General and the Bohemian Benevolent & Literary Association (BBLA). The BNH now serves as a common space for presenting Czech culture, trade and tourism in the United States, reminding us of the Czech immigrants who once resided in this part of Manhattan.

The Czech Center New York is a Czech governmental agency associated with the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, part of the international network of Czech Centres.

The Czech Center NY is partly supported by contributions and membership dues, which are 100 % tax deductible through our partner BBLA (501 (c) (3) not-for-profit association).
