About Owner Lisa Cooper
Elisa Contemporary Art was originally launched in November 2007, as a way to harness the power of art to positively transform people lives.
Since the beginning, I have been committed to presenting artists whose work engages me on an emotional, spiritual and/or intellectual level. And I've made a commitment to give back to others as I receive.
The Riverdale New York Gallery was opened in September 2008. Elisa Contemporary Art remains Riverdale's only Contemporary Art gallery.
Our Art Consulting services began in 2009. I work with clients from the experienced collector to the first time buyer. My extensive relationship with artists and galleries worldwide enables me to find the perfect artwork for every client project, style and budget.
Over the past few years, we have curated over 15 shows in public and private art spaces in the Tri-State area, participated in international art fairs in New York City, Miami and the Hamptons. In 2013 we worked with two interior designers for the Designer Showhouse of Westchester (in Scarsdale). In 2013, we were selected as the Bronx gallery for the 2013 CURATENYC.
Lisa Cooper is also a member of the Arts & Architecture Review Committee at Saint Peter's Church (NYC - home of the Louise Nevelson white sanctuary), a co-leader for the New York Chapter of the Association of Women Art Dealers (A.W.A.D), member of the Bronx Arts Alliance, a guest lecturer at School of Visual Arts and Queens College and a co-founder of the 2011/2012 Riverdale Festival of the Arts.
