DESCRIPTION

The New York Academy of Art was founded in 1982 by Andy Warhol and a group of artists, critics and art patrons with the goal of sparking renewed interest in rigorous academic training in figurative and representational art. A cultural and educational instution, the Academy is home to more than 100 artists in residence and hosts a year round series of exhibitions, events, open studio tours and lectures.
