tattoos : legs : females
"tattoos : legs : females"
by: Brink Ability
These are portraits of beautiful women… defined by their long anonymous legs, emblazoned with their private stories, and identified only by their tattoos and posture.
This series was shot on a plastic (though medium-format) Diana+ camera, and blends fine-art with documentation, and modern tattoos with nostalgic technology. By considering more than the crisp and clean photography of tattoo documentation, "tattoos : legs : females" looks to find beauty in the more complex combination of tattoo + female + photography itself. And, by limiting the documentation to the backs of the legs, the common personalities and identities of these subjects is even further distilled to the moments they've chosen to inject beneath their skin.
