DESCRIPTION

The show Surface at the BAG Gallery in the Gowanus area of Brooklyn is a collective view of the land we inhabit.  The work in this show represents contemporary artists' interpretation of landscape.  It explores our urban landscape and natural landscape.  This show reflects the changes that have been made to landscape in the wake of industrialization, mass communication and how the role of lanscape art has changed since the beginning of this genre.

Surface show represents work by video artists, painters, sculptors, illustrators, photographers and installation artists.  The work spans from representative to conceptual.
