天圓地方 Patterns of Heaven & Earth
Artist Nick Dong explores the patterns that come together to form culture and create language to transmit ideas. Reflecting on the exhibition Emperors’ Treasures: Chinese Art from the National Palace Museum, Taipei,Dong creates an immersive, interactive installation of a “circular sky” and a “square earth," invoking ancient Chinese iconography of heaven and earth. Dong explores this cosmological pattern, recognizing the rich and wondrous culture in the exhibition and its place in the modern world.
