DESCRIPTION

The Full Trilogy marks the culmination of Extracted: A Trilogy by Ranu Mukherjee with a panel discussion about the legacy of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 and performance by the Del Sol String Quartet. The panel includes the artist as well as independent historian Connie Yu, who participated in Mukherjee’s final final video among others. The performance of “Calligraffiti,” a quartet composition by Huang Ruo, provides a new soundtrack for Mukherjee’s films, which explore the California Gold Rush, the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 and Daoist mythology.

 7 PM – Panel discussion[BT1]

8 PM – Screening with live musical performance
