JAUS is very pleased to present 10 Part Invention, a group exhibition featuring works by members of Tiger Strikes Asteroid (TSA) New York: Vincent Como, William Crump, Rachael Gorchov, Tai Yin Ho, Jackie Hoving, Alex Paik, Norm Paris, Matt Phillips, Andrew Prayzner, and Naomi Reis. "10 Part Invention" conforms part of Trading Aces, a series of exchange exhibitions between New York and Los Angeles art spaces. Trading Aces is organized by ARTRA Curatorial and Ashley Garrett.

TSA New York is comprised of 10 members who each take turns curating shows at our space, resulting in programming that conveys the interests and personalities of our different members. Our space functions as a laboratory of ideas for the members, as they explore different ideas through their exhibitions that are often culled from their studio practices. Viewed as a whole, TSA NY’s programming becomes like 10 soloists improvising — our ideas blending and harmonizing together with common interests as well as allowing for serendipitous surprises and curatorial counterpoint from each artist-member’s personal experience.

TSA New York is an artist-run, artist-curated exhibition space located in Bushwick, Brooklyn and part of the Tiger Strikes Asteroid network of artist-run spaces. TSA New York seeks to invite a dialogue between an eclectic mix of artists and curatorial visions with a focus on emerging artists from New York and beyond. Our exhibitions have been featured in numerous print and online publications including L Magazine, Bushwick Daily, Artinfo, Artnet News, Beautiful Decay, and the New York Times.

Tiger Strikes Asteroid is a network of artist-run spaces with locations in Philadelphia, New York, and Los Angeles. Each space is independently operated and focuses on presenting a varied program of emerging and mid-career artists. Our goal is to collectively bring people together, expand connections and build community through artist-initiated exhibitions and curatorial opportunities.
