Join us for an exhibition of Kevin Box’s unique paper-to-metal sculpture. A reception featuring the artist will be held on Friday, July 3rd from 5-7 pm
Box's new work features limited-edition wall pieces inspired by a year of travel in 37 cities, uncovering historic and contemporary art influences. His “creased compositions” start as white paper, folded purposefully, each crease representing a decision. Paper/wax originals are then cast into museum-quality aluminum and bronze. New work features international coins rubbed into paper like passport stamps from Box’s journeys and an intimate series of postcard-sized bronze sculptures representing sketches made along the way.
This exhibition is a contrast to Box’s, Origami in the Garden, open April 25-October 24 at the Turquoise Trail Sculpture Garden on Hwy.14, south of Santa Fe.
