DESCRIPTION

Explore  the Asian Art Museum's exhibitions and galleries for FREE on Saturday, May 16 in commemoration of International Museum Day and Art Museum Day. This year's festivities coincide with the Asian Heritage Street Celebration, a public festival honoring the Asian community held on Civic Center Plaza adjacent to the museum. In collaboration with the Street Celebration, the museum will host music and dance from Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam performed by the Southeast Asian Arts & Culture Coalition. Other museum activities include the Center for Asian American Media’s cinema showcase, docent tours and hands-on art making that will bring the museum's masterpieces to light.
