The basis of direct transformation

Using equipment  in need of repair,  these synthesized projects send out a series of signals that
have been transfered through 3 different types of analog devices.  The outcome is a hybrid image which is unclear and un-rehearsed.  This is the electricity between  Robert Hansen and Gina Clarks collaboration. Interludes into the past are excerpts from Clark's video archives 1997-2008.  This will be the first time this amount  of her footage will be exposed to the public. This event will also include the unveiling of Hansen's most recent drawings, video works, and family photo manipulations.  Performance includes a two foot taco display by Vitamin Wig C.

Essentially we live in a visual culture that lacks vision.  There is no center, and there is no current.  Far vision (television) is now merry-go-round vision, and what we are overlooking lies in a resurgence of singular vision.  It is also to berecognized, the importance in having a surreal experience with such domesticated or outdoor spaces, as well as the execution of a newly revisited experience for those around us (ie: the audience, your neighbor).  Once the act is performed in front of an audience, the ritual begins to become more of a lesson- and then simply a meditation for both sides. Not just for the performers, or  the audience, but for the subjects in the work themselves.
