DESCRIPTION

Artists Anna K.E., Alina Tenser, and Viola Ye┼čiltaç have personal relationships with performance, which possesses varying degrees of presence within—and relevance to—their respective practices. The works created for No entrance, no exit gesture toward an in-between space shared by art with audiences, one which is freed from the designations of beginning and end, instead suspending an implied or inherent performance in time, and collapsing the physical states of objects, bodies, and surfaces onto a single plane.

Curated by Lumi Tan.

Opening Reception: Tuesday, January 13, 6pm-8pm

No entrance, no exit is made possible with support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, David Lewis, and Jennifer Vorbach, and in part by public funds from New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
