DESCRIPTION
LarkGallery and Studio 215 announce new joint art exhibition at the Los Angeles Theatre and Performing Arts Incubator “Schkapf."

215 MOVEMENT - ART TAKES THE STAGE

When art hangs on the walls of the theater it is especially clear that art talks and makes statements. Art is an ultimate expression of an artist's mind, heart and soul and we want to make it clear to viewers that they see and buy not only an artwork, but the feelings and ideas of the participating artists.

Many of LarkGallery artists are active members of their communities whom we want to give additional opportunities to make their voices heard. Artists were asked to write a one sentence statement for this show, which will be displayed with their… artwork during the exhibition. We will also conduct interviews with participants of this show.

Concurrently with LarkGallery’s group show ‘Art Takes the Stage’, four other art shows will be running at ‘Schkapf’ theater: Peter Shpayer ’Light Sculptures’, Lana Sokoloff ‘Abstract Paintings and Underwater Photography’, Vaan Manoukian ‘Neo-Surrealistic Paintings and Sculpture’ and a group show Dys/Function by Zeina Baltagi and A. Laura Brody. Dys/Function is about different ways of looking at mobility, accessibility and disability.

When: the show will run from January 12 to January 17, reception: January 17, 4 - 8 pm.
Where: 6567 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90038
