DESCRIPTION

International Print Center New York announces the presentation of New Prints 2013/14: Benefit Exhibition & Silent Auction, opening on November 21 and running through December 13, 2014.  Celebrating the past two years of IPCNY’s New Prints Program, and marking the fourteenth year of IPCNY’s presence in the arts community, the exhibition will consist of 120 prints donated by artists and publishers whose work has been selected by IPCNY juries for New Prints exhibitions in 2013 and 2014. There will be live printing throughout the event by Drive By Press.

All prints included in New Prints 2013/14  will be sold to benefit IPCNY’s exhibitions and programs. Donated prints include work by Rosaire Appel, Valerie Hammond, Yuji Hiratsuka, Julia Jacquette, Jane Kent, Frederick Mershimer, Endi Poskovic, Jenny Robinson, and David Sandlin, among many others, with prices ranging from $45 to $2,735.

New Prints Selections Committees are composed of one to six curators, critics, artists, master printers, publishers, and collectors, and others prominent in the field, specifically in 2013 and 2014, Desirée Alvarez, Andrea Butler, Christopher Creyts, Amze Emmons, Kimball Higgs, Richard Lloyd, Nicola López, Susan Lorence, Frederick Mershimer, Mary Newman, Lothar Osterburg, Andrew Raftery, Chris Santa Maria, and Kit White. A complete list of past New Prints Selections Committee members is available at www.ipcny.org.

Drive By Press is a mobile printmaking studio built to promote the growth and democratization of art through printmaking. Drive By Press will be live-printing woodblock on an etching press during the Opening Reception.
