Supersonic 2009 is an exhibition of artwork by MFA candidates from seven of Southern California's graduate fine arts programs. Supersonic 2009 is hosted by LA ART Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center West Hall A 1201 S Figueroa St LA., CA 90015

Supersonic 2009 is an exhibition featuring artworks of all media from nearly 80 artists, presented by M.F.A. candidates from the following institutions: Art Center College of Design, Claremont Graduate University, Otis College of Art and Design, University of California - Riverside, University of California - San Diego, University of California - Santa Barbara, and University of Southern California. Now in its fourth incarnation, Supersonic 2009 provides an outstanding opportunity for Southern California's M.F.A. students to share culturally significant contributions with the region's artistic community, as well as a dialogue with each other. Supersonic's presence at the Los Angeles Art Show showcases Southern California's tradition for producing emerging artists and illustrates how the concentration of innovative institutions of higher learning and groundbreaking graduate fine arts programs have aided in solidifying the region's reputation as a world leading, creative center.

The first Supersonic was held at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Supersonic 2005 moved to the L.A. Design Center in South Los Angeles; and, Supersonic 2006 was on display at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery in Barnsdall Park. The public success of these three exhibitions has prompted the Los Angeles Art Show to offer the organizers of Supersonic 2009 space in their new home at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
