DESCRIPTION

"It Had To Be Done: The Antic Arts of Shane Valazquez"
Exhibition Dates: June 14 - 17, 12-6 pm
Opening Reception: June 13, 6-8 pm

If Charles Schultz, Harvey Kurtzman, George Grosz, John Severin and William Blake got together for one night of earth shattering sex, the result would be Shane Velazquez. Under these influences, Shane has taken on the world through his eyes, and served it back to us in an overwhelming casserole of comic-book vice. "It Had to be Done: The Antic Arts of Shane Velazquez" is a darkly sexual exploration of the social and political forces that underlie modern society as seen through Shane's eyes, using illustration, paint, digital pixels, and some light latex thrown in.
