Emerging Artists Take Long Island City this June 6th
Conception Events ‘Emerging Artists Festival,’ is happening Friday, June 6th – Friday June 13th.
It turns out that LIC has the highest concentration of art galleries, art institutions, and studio spaces of any neighborhood in New York City and now it will have its very own ‘Emerging Artists’ festival to celebrate!
“When we first discussed bringing a show to this area, it was clear that something exciting was happening by the big names that were eager to be involved’ explained curator Mike Wolf.
Opening night, Friday June 6th kicks off at 7pm at the trendy Nesva Hotel, with a live ‘Art Clash’, groups of artists take battle upon canvas!
Vespa Queens will host a live painting of a VESPA SCOOTER by renowned street artist OPTIMO NYC. It’s a can’t-miss opportunity to watch the creation of incredible street art in real time. “We're psyched. Like, really psyched” – Damian Sandone, Vespa Queens Proprietor.
Neighborhood favorite, Space Gallery will also get in on the action with a live body painting by anatomical artist of ‘I f%%#n love science’ fame DANNY QUIRK.
Local Watering Hole, Dutch Kills Centraal will close out the night with a line up of acoustic musicians not to be missed.
“We don’t want to spoil the surprise but we have some internationally renowned artists confirmed, there will be a few surprises for sure” co/curator Rachel Wilkins explained.
Wristbands for the festival are $5 and can be purchased at The Nesva Hotel from 7pm Friday June 6th
