DESCRIPTION

Intimate Distance: Three Experiments in Catharsis. A show curated by designer Derrick Cruz featuring three group exhibits driven by personal narrative. Each group leads an investigation of emotion in inner and outer space. Anamnesis: the  remembering of things from a supposed previous existence as they attempt to transform the unseen, untouchable most personal treasures we own: memories. Mars One: Combining personal, cultural and universal identities to design a future generation based on a past civilization. Lastly, Shame, a voyeuristic gaze inside the punishment, and perhaps indulgence, of one’s own perception. Together they create a cathartic experience that is rooted in fragmented identity. The results yielded are unknowable to the artists, but are cataloged through objects.
