DESCRIPTION

As the US presidential elections loom near and the fate of our nation is on everyone’s mind, it is the perfect time to take a closer look at what we hope to see in our and proceeding generation’s future. In Look Close…See Far, Global Fusion Art presents selected work by artists revealing existing realities and exploring new possibilities. Among the exhibited work, the collaborative project “Living” presents images from a variety of cultures and societies expanding our perception of living in a world, which embraces unity and peace.

For this event, artists have pledged 10% of sale price of artwork and event proceeds will be donated to Action Against Hunger, dedicated to combating hunger in emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster, and food shortage. Their on-site staff of experienced professionals and technical experts in the fields of water and sanitation, food security, public health, and nutrition - work to restore dignity, self-sufficiency, and independence to vulnerable populations around the world.

Global Fusion Art is a collective of multicultural artists and communities committed to support cross-cultural understanding through visual arts, music, performance and multi-media. We seek to raise awareness of the global community and promote individuals and organizations that provide humanitarian services across the world.

Participating Visual Artists:

Farhana Akhter, Liz Derickson, Neil Enggist, Leandre Jackson, Chandini Pinilla, Anisa Rahim, Tania Sen, Juan Carlo Suazo, Maryann Sussoni, Margo Vallone, Ellen Woods

Performance:

7:00 pm – Sitar music by Anjana Roy with Eric Alabaster playing the Tabla. A second generation musician and teacher, Anjana studied the sitar with masters in India and has performed in many local and international concerts. Eric is a drummer, composer, tabla player and a music educator who has performed widely including Broadway, TV and Radio. Anjana and Eric will be performing two compositions in Raga Begeshri.

Wine and Light refreshments will be served. Admission $10 Suggested
