Tria Gallery is proud to present a new body of work by New York City artist Clara Fialho. Fialho’s canvases are bursting with brilliant color, vibrant energy and exuberance. She is known for her large scale works that incorporate big bold swaths of color as well as intricate and delicate circles, lines and scribbles. Fialho’s new canvases carry on in this tradition while taking on a whole new level of playfulness and whimsy, and adding mid-sized canvases and small works on panel to the mix.
My work is intended to take the viewer away from the world of thought. Most of
the time it is process oriented, sometimes containing elements from dreams. It
reveals universal forms, which are believed to be innately present in every human
being. I feel the need to show these elements in order to bring them about. They are
often the product of a personal disenchantment with the material world around me.(…).
Ms. Fialho was born in Brazil and raised in New York City where she currently lives and works. Fialho received her BFA from Cooper Union on a full scholarship. She has participated in dozens of group exhibitions and art fairs throughout the country and her work is held in many private and corporate collections. Her work was recently featured on the cover of New York Spaces Magazine. This is her third exhibit at Tria Gallery and first solo show.
