Black White and Read All Over
All words are abstract symbols, images that we infuse with meaning. But what does it look like when the boundaries between word and image begin to blur? Word buried in image, image obscured by word.
The works in Black, White and Read All Over explore this convergence and confusion of language and image. Each work will undertake this exploration from a different angle: monumental text, reading as intimate act, text as instigator of relational dynamics, of humor or persuasion, legible text charged by confession and text at its point of illegibility.
