As We Are Now
We photograph to Identify. Oftentimes not really knowing what it is we are searching for. Some ineffable feeling of comfort, of home, that we wish to return to but maybe it never even existed in the first place. Wrapped up in the construction of home, is the construction of identity. Through a self-reflective practice we are examining the way in which we situate ourselves into our immediate surroundings, setting the camera on ourselves, on the objects and people around us. Recording, describing that which we experience so that we can somehow make sense of the homes that we’ve attempted to create, and continue to create in each and every moment. These images and recordings rest in between the question and the answer that you may never receive, but the constant search is all that there is.
