Summer Sights: A Gallery Survey Exhibition
With this exhibition, we aim to introduce you to each
of our foremost contemporary realist artists. Many
of them are also included in two extensive traveling
museum exhibitions. “Hyperrealism 1967 - 2012” will
continue touring notable European venues such as
the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid, Spain, the
Saarland Museum in Germany, and the Birmingham
Museum and Art Gallery in England.
“Photorealism Revisited” will leave its mark
throughout the United States at venues that include
the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and the Butler
Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio. Both
exhibitions will travel through 2014. Their aim is to
re-introduce contemporary realism to the art viewing
public. Finally, and most notably, the work of verist
sculptor, John DeAndrea will be included in the 55th
Venice Biennale this year, in the Arsenale, alongside
other accomplished artists.
Our exhibition, “Summer Sights”, will not only bring
you a taste of what’s on view all over the world but also
a sweet taste of Summer fun. Each painting, watercolor,
and sculpture evokes a nostalgia of the cruelest,
sweetest, and warmest of seasons. In the Fall, many of
these artists will be immortalized by the publication of
Photorealism In the Digital Age published by Harry N.
Abrams, the fourth and final volume on Photorealism
by Louis K. Meisel.
