DESCRIPTION

At the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), March Madness has a completely different meaning.  Every mid-March the Spring BFA Show begins the procession of graduation shows to come for SAIC over the next few months.  The Spring BFA is one of the largest gallery shows of the year displaying over 200 graduating undergraduates’ works. The show opened, and as usual it was an energetic affair.  However, this year was slightly different than the previous two because the work had just as much (maybe even more) energy and vitality than the crowd opening night.  The works displayed are colorful, fun, and interactive, showing that economic issues are not at the forefront of graduating seniors’ minds anymore.
