DESCRIPTION

Resident artist Abdullah Alrozzi will be giving a presentation on his work in Townhouse's library at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 16, 2012. Abdullah's presentation will focus on one work in particular, titled The Germ, which granted him second place in 2010's Young Artist of the Year competition, organised by the A.M. Qattan Foundation's Culture and Arts Program. Visitors are also welcome to visit Abdallah's studio on the third floor of Townhouse's main building where an installation made of found objects collected during his one month stay in Egypt will be in display.


About the artist:

Abdullah Alrozzi, born in Gaza (1982), received his BA in Education and Fine Arts from Al Aqsa University in Gaza. Ever since, Alrozzi has participated in a number of group and solo exhibitions in Gaza. In 2012 Alrozzi's work featured in the International Art Laguna group exhibition in Venice, where he was a finalist in the Art Laguna prize. This is the first time Abdullah partakes in anĀ artist in residence program here in Townhouse Gallery.
