Santa Monica, CA -- Frank Pictures Gallery, is pleased to present the art of Stanley SilverBreath and Shadow” beginning Saturday, September 10th at the gallery in Bergamot Station.

Growing up in Los Angeles, artist Stanley Silver discovered he loved to draw. He developed this gift over the years culminating in formal training at the University of Arizona and The Art Center in Pasadena. As a competitive athlete, Silver was Also wild about sports. In college, Silver earned commissions from The Los Angeles Dodgers. “A light went off in my head and I knew I had found my calling -- combining my passion for sports with my passion to draw." Today, Silver’s work captures the iconic figures that shape our culture through a mixture of contemporary and abstract styles employing the use of watercolor and oil paints. Silver does not utilize Photoshop techniques or the tracing of photographs. his work is done classically -- drawn by his hand.

Silver’s art has been exhibited in prominent galleries and museums throughout the United States. The Museum of Tolerance commissioned Silver in 1997 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s breaking the color barrier and entering into Major League Baseball. “When I was given this honor, I knew immediately what I wanted to paint – Jackie stealing home.” In 2000, Silver’s image “A Fall Classic” was chosen as the official art of the 2000 World Series, used on all tickets, invitations and commemorative items. His collectors include Hank Aaron, Sandy Koufax, Ronnie Lott, David Arquette, Courtney Cox, Barry Bonds, George Clooney, Barron Hilton, Cameron Manheim and Mark Messier among others. Silver’s work has been shown at Legends Museum, Zimmer Museum, PGA of America Museum, Los Angeles Natural History Museum, The United States Sports Academy, Gallery 319, Houston Texans Inaugural Season Paintings, Dodger Stadium 40th Anniversary, Staples Center Gallery, Art Expo New York and numerous sporting Arenas.
