As we progress through life, how do our life experiences and established beliefs and morals affect us as an individual? How does our personal identity evolve with time and affect our environment and core beliefs? Are we in fact the same individual from moment to moment? In their latest works, artists Tom French and Chloe Urban focus on the illusions and realizations of identity and the resulting effect on our experiences. Both artists explore this theory of self by presenting multiple layers of engagement with their work in ‘Hidden Realizations’.

Through exploring the juxtaposition of subject matter, form and color, Tom French and Chloe Urban focus on capturing particular moments, experiences and expressions of realizations whether they are instantly visible or hidden between layers. Resulting, in the viewer drawing upon their own life experiences to form their connection and perception of the work. To allow for a heightened sense of awareness and fully experience French and Urban’s explorations of illusions and identity, Vincent Michael will incorporate an added element of technology, allowing the viewer a great sense of engagement and experience with each artist and their work.

Vincent Michael Gallery is thrilled to welcome emerging artist, Chloe Urban and UK based contemporary artist Tom French for our September exhibition, ‘Hidden Realizations’. This will be French’s North American debut and largest exhibition of his oeuvre to date. This experience-based exhibition will be open to the public Friday, September 3rd through Saturday, September 25th. In celebration of our artists, we will be hosting an opening reception Friday, September 3rd from 7pm to 10pm.
