DESCRIPTION
In his first one-man show in New York, Peter Kaplan's paintings pose the question “How random is life?” In “Synchronicity” life appears to be the result of a non conscious decision. But once life has begun, certain physical events take place in some predicted order. This show is about these events.

Blending natural environments with landscape or cosmic forces, Kaplan work is powerful in its energy and in its balance of both color and light.

A native of New York City, Kaplan was educated at the High School of Music and Art and graduated from Cooper Union as a fine arts major.

For more than 25 years Kaplan was a professional photographer in New York City. His area of expertise was in the technology of how products were made. His painting reflects his continuing interest in this area. In this show are a series of recent collages which resonate with this same energy but are presented in a smaller scale.
